The Town Board is the executive body for the field of independent competence of the town. Owing to this position it is not for the town board to decide in the field of delegated competence, with the exception of cases when it is laid down according to the law (authorization of the town board to publish town regulations). The Town Board meetings, unlike those of the Town Council, are non-public; the town board meets usually once in two weeks, in urgent cases an extra meeting may be convened. The Town Board is made up of the mayor, the vice-mayor and other five board members who are elected by the Town Council from the Town Council members. Committees are consultative bodies for the Town Board.
