
He is a descendant of branched Praveček’s and Vacek’s families of musicians. Praveček was a composer and conductor, experienced teacher at specialized military and civil universities, art adviser, juror and chairman of juries at festivals and contests of big brass bands both in his own country and abroad.
He influenced the development of Czech brass band concert music significantly. He is also an author of comprehensive papers on brass bands and their instrumentation. His compositions are inspired by Czech folk music. He composed 159 compositional opuses.
He is a citizen of honour of our town; he participated in brass band concerts at "Praveček’s Lanškroun" many times. Also the Primary School of Art in Lanškroun bears his name.
