
He was a regional historian, chronicler and the first postmaster of the town of Lanškroun.
In 1808 he opened a drapery shop in Lanškroun. He was the first to install a steam boiler at the Erxleben’s still.
He was the head ammunition master of the town guardsmen’s association. He organized construction of the shooting range and looked after improvements of its neighbourhood. Anna, his older sister, married Ch. P. Erxleben. His son Wilhelm was a postmaster in Lanškroun and also a town councillor for a long time.
